«À ce jour, il n’y a rien à signaler à propos du Sahara occidental. Après le dernier rapport du Secrétaire général et le dernier exposé au Conseil de sécurité, il a été décidé de donner du temps à la réflexion avant de convoquer une cinquième série de pourparlers. Peter van Walsum, qui demeure l’Envoyé personnel du Secrétaire général des Nations Unies au Sahara occidental, fait partie de ce processus de réflexion. La date et le lieu des prochains pourparlers seront communiqués une fois qu’ils auront été déterminés.»

«And in response to questions I had earlier this week on Western Sahara, I just wanted to reassure the questioner, who is not here, that there is nothing new to report at this time. Following the Secretary-General’s latest report and the last briefing in the Security Council, we are giving the process some additional time and thought before convening a fifth round of talks. Peter van Walsum’s status has not changed; he continues to be the Secretary-General’s Personal Envoy and is part of the process of considering next steps. When a time and place for a new round of talks has been determined, we will make that public, as we informed you earlier this week.»
