«La Confédération syndicale des travailleurs sahraouis à El Ayoun (Sahara Occidental occupé) a entamé ce matin 2 août une grève générale pour protester contre "la politique d'appauvrissement et de ségrégation" appliquée par le Maroc, "la spoliation des ressources naturelles sahraouies" et "la non-application d'un référendum d'autodétermination".(note informative)
Un rassemblement a lieu depuis 8h45 ce matin sur une place de la villele Boulevard Smara, la police marocaine a encerclé les grévistes et est intervenue brutalement pour les disperser. On ne connaît pas encore le nombre de blessés ni d'arrestations.
Le syndicat des travailleurs sahraouis appelle les organisations syndicales à protester et à appuyer cette lutte légitime.»
